The convictions that shape our practice, the faith that grounds them, and the objectives set out when Great Commission Ministries was registered in 1994.
Our Convictions
Five commitments, tested over three decades of practice, that guide how care is actually carried out in the field.
GCM walks with each child until they are fully settled in life — through college, into employment, and in several cases through their weddings.
Children receive identity, names, birthdays, and belonging — not merely food and shelter.
Spiritual formation, education, healthcare, counselling, and vocational skill are treated as one continuous work.
GCM is Indian-founded, Indian-led, and answerable to Indian regulators, local authorities, and its international partners.
Written into the founding society constitution: service to all, irrespective of religion, caste, creed, language or region.
Statement of Faith
The theological convictions of Great Commission Ministries, held in common with the wider evangelical church.
We believe the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments to be the verbally inspired Word of God — the final authority for faith and life, inerrant in the original writings, infallible and God-breathed.
We believe there is only one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ — His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, bodily resurrection, ascension to the right hand of the Father, and personal return in power and glory.
We believe that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and that salvation is the gift of God, brought by grace and received through personal faith in Jesus Christ.
We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.
We believe the Church is the body and bride of Christ — a spiritual organism made up of all born-again persons — and in the establishment and continuance of local churches for worship, edification and fellowship.
We believe it is the obligation of the saved to witness by life and by word to the truths of Holy Scripture, and to proclaim the Gospel to all mankind.
We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost.
