Ashir Orphan Children's Home

Project Overview

Ashir Orphan Children's Home is GCM's flagship project and the anchor of our entire ministry. It provides comprehensive, long-term care to vulnerable children who have lost their parents or guardians — because every child deserves a safe home, a quality education, and the opportunity to flourish.

Beyond shelter, we provide nutrition, educational support, healthcare, and most importantly, a loving community where children can heal, grow, and develop into empowered adults ready to contribute to society.

Through personalized care and mentorship, we help each child discover their potential and build a foundation for a hopeful future — a commitment that continues long after they turn eighteen.

Based at Malyala Village, Bommalaramaram Mandal, Yadadri–Bhongir District, Telangana, serving the surrounding villages. Part of the work of Great Commission Ministries since 1994.

Who the Children Are

GCM cares for three categories of children, and the distinction matters for how we present sponsorship honestly to donors.

Orphans

Children with no living parents and, in many cases, no known family background at all.

Semi-Orphans

Children with one surviving parent — usually a mother working as a daily wage labourer — who cannot afford food, fees and uniforms for her children.

Children from Families in Crisis

Where parents are alive but incapacitated by illness, addiction, incarceration, abandonment, or extreme poverty.

Some parents who could not afford to send their children to school or feed them on their earnings brought their children to us. Those children now receive three proper meals a day, are taught health and hygiene, attend school, and are raised in proper discipline.

Beyond Eighteen

GCM's responsibility does not end at eighteen. Graduates remain under our care while pursuing degrees in the city. Alumni stay in contact, return to speak to current children, and in several cases now give back financially. This aftercare commitment is one of the things that sets Ashir Children's Home apart.
